I got my Bachelor’s in Mathematics and Actuarial Science from Calvin College and I am currently working on my Master’s in Accounting at GVSU.
What is your area of specialty – how do you best help your clients?
I focus primarily on tax preparation for Partnerships, S-Corps, Individuals, and Employee Benefit Plans.
How do you like to give back to the community?
I am active in my church, playing bass guitar during worship a few Sundays a month.
What are your superpowers – something you’re good at that others should know about?
I am good at noticing/remembering small details. I think this really helps me connect with people as it helps to be able to bring up things we’ve talked about in the past and show that I truly care to get to know them.
On a less serious note, I am also a whiz at Guitar Hero and I’ll accept any challenge to take me on!
Accomplishment you’re proud of?
I’m very proud of going from working 3rd shift in a factory to having the courage to go back to school and get a job in a field that I truly enjoy. It’s been a great experience, and I’m happy I had the courage to take that big step.
Tell us about your life outside of work (family/pets/sports/activities/interests/hobbies)
Outside of work my favorite thing to do is hang out with my friends. Whether it be playing sports (a recent favorite being pickleball), card games, or video games, if I am doing it with my friends, I am very happy.
